Excellent care provided by Mr Hartwright and his team. A good clear communicator and someone who listens well both before my hip replacement, immediately after during the recovery phase and even now just over a year since my procedure. I would have no hesitation at all in highly recommending him to anyone who is looking to have something similar done.

Mr. Hartwright carried out a replacement knee operation for me which was a great success. I had suffered with pain in my knee for 5 years and now I have now discomfort at all. His patient attention could not be faulted. All the time at Sarum Road Hospital his professionalism was very impressive and I had no concerns about the treatment I received. He has now made a complete difference to my life and I am able to lead a normal life and get back to playing my golf without pain.

Mr Hartwright has been fantastic from the start of my hip replacement journey right up until the last check ups following the procedure. He explained what was causing my problem and how he would be able to fix it clearly, showed me the new joint and we talked through the scans so I fully understood. The surgery went well, he was there when I arrived in theatre and when I woke up in recovery again giving reassurance and information on how it went. He even popped in the following day, his day off, to check mine and his other patients xrays! And that we were OK. The whole team at RHCH were fantastic, the care was exceptional. To any one who may need a hip replacement I would like to say that this has been life changing for me. While it is a major operation the relief from the moment you return to the ward is unbelievable. I was up and on crutches, then home the following day. Work with the physios OT's to get moving and your recovery will be so fast and you'll be out walking independently before you know it.

Had a Knee replacement on 17th Feb, NHS patient, (I won’t talk about day 2 after op), but was well looked after in hospital, home on 3rd day, after 2wks didn’t need crutches, was just using walking stick for support, saw Mr Hartwright (very nice guy who puts you at ease & phones you before the surgery to explain everything), after 5wks who was happy with how it went & how well I was doing, saw physio at the 3wk & 6wk, was back doing my Linedancing & gym carefully after 8wks & on the advise of physio, think the exercises they ask you to do are very important, if really difficult the first wk. Now 12wks today from op, able to walk, drive, climb stairs with each leg, without pain or scrunching joints although the knee is still a bit stiff, but still doing 4 of the exercises daily like I was told to.
